Hello. Extremely long time no see eh? Apologies.A combination of busyness and lack of enthusiasm is a scary thing. With that, I need to update it more regularly, with the thought of quantity over quality (not that quality will be pushed aside completely, just the posts are shorter I guess). So, since this is a blog that focuses on everything (and apparently, nothing), I shall regularly post stuff, and hopefully with varied contents  that not only relevant to my interests, but to the greater public.  Me being a partial hipster won't help with that though.

So, today's post will be about my interests, and how extremely varied it is. I'm not bragging though, there's nothing to brag about with these weird combinations. I'll show you how my interests change, stays, dies and reincarnate throughout my life. So, let us begin.

Construction vehicles

Yes, bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, all those almost always yellow coloured machinery you see near construction sites. You might think that it's a normal interests with kids, you know, buying construction site toys, remote controlled bulldozers and the lot. But see, my interests, somehow, are more severe than the next door kid playing a bulldozer toy in the sandbox.

I started with this fad of mine when I'm 10-11 years old. But somehow, I can't remember what is the trigger to it. Maybe a book? I don't know, my mind's blurry. But what I can tell you is, my interests rapidly grows because of *drum rolls* internet! So, other kids might be online playing flash games or updating their Myspace, here I was, in front of the screen, looking at pictures of...cranes, tractors, bulldozers, the lot. I have no idea why, I just love em. And of course, I'll try  to draw pictures of those stuff. God knows how many drawings I had done that is related to this. I can only draw stick figures for humans, but I can draw a decent construction vehicles. My sketch book probably looks like a catalogue for construction workers. Heck, because of my interests for it, I even understand how hydraulic pistons works. Hmm, somehow I think that that part of my brains could have been used to store better information than that.
Yes, back then I understood this crap.

This used to be my wallpaper, I joke you not.

Whales

Whales....yeah. Not cats, whales, those un-cute, oversized mammalians. I knew most of the 'mainstream' whale species (da hell does that means??) like Blue whale, Right whale, Bowhead whale, Humpback whale, Sperm whale and the likes. Heck, I even memorized some scientific names in those days.

I started this interests of mine around the same time as the above fad. Actually, I don't remember which came first. Maybe both. The trigger would be an encyclopaedia I bought, more specifically, the marine section. Up till this day, I still don't understand why I would be interested in such stuff.
I used to memorize all of this.

Runescape/Drawing/ Medieval Fantasy/Writing

I never explained how my previous interests died. Well, this is the interest that killed off the old ones. Not really killed per se, more to slow torturous death. Any ways, I picked this interests when I was 11-12. The trigger would be the browser MMORPG Runescape. I only used to play those Flash games at Miniclip, then  on that website I decided to try Runescape (RS), and it changed my life, whether for the good or for the bad. I liked it, almost addicted to it, I almost converted all my friends to play it.

Oh, and why did I combine RS/drawing/fantasy? Because from RS->Fantasy/Drawing. One day, I found a RS related drawing. A sketch of the Barrow brothers drawn anime style. It was simple, but I fell in love with it.I saved it, and I printed it. And the first thing I tried is to draw it. But of course, after a long time only drawing bulldozers and whales, I can't draw shit. So I do what most kids would do. I traced it. I traced it and after I finished it, I was proud with it. As if I drew it from scratch. Anyways, since that trace, I started to copy it by hand. You wouldn't believe the amount of sketches I drew that is related to that picture I found. It's basically a huge pile of copy pastes of the same image, with one being gradually better then those before.

.After that, my skills are decent enough to draw my own original characters. And that's when the fantasy and writing part starts to flourish. I started to write adventures of my characters and do short stories and comics about (though all of them are RS related. Creativity and originality has little meaning to me those days). It was bad, cliché  and cheesy. But hey, I enjoyed doing it, and it created the basis for my writing style today. If not for these things, I would not be drawing/writing today.

This interest was never killed. It went through 'hibernation' when my next interest came.
This shit taught me English D:

Military

More specifically, firearms. I picked this up when I was 13-14. The trigger was yet another video game, 4 of them actually. In chronological order, Age of  Empires III, Counter Strike: Condition Zero, Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty 4: Modern warfare. I played, I was interested, and a new interest came to me.

AoE III interested me about military during the 1600-1800s. Muskets, cannons, bombards, abus guns and others. CS and CoD4 makes me interested in modern military and CoD WaW made me interested in WW2.
But I was more interested with modern firearms. I googled it, wiki'd it, read about it, and understood how they worked. I remembered most names, models, what type of bullets the used, which countries they are from. And of course I drew all a lot of firearms. The earlier ones are crap, but with practice, I got better, and more detailed. Like the whales and the construction vehicles, my sketchbooks are full of guns, and I actually did a bloody catalogue! complete with the descriptions.

Till this day, I'm still into these military stuff, though not as extreme as before.
Pukingrainbows.jpg

Anime

The newest interest of mine. I picked it up when I was 15-16. Yeah, pretty new. Actually, I drew anime style drawings ever since that RS sketch I found, but I just used the style, I never ventured into anime fandom. I only know of the term 'anime' when I was 12. Any ways, my trigger would be pamphlet from a Gempak magazine, for an upcoming anime movie, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shamballa. It's contains the characters, infos, seiyuus, screencaps and release date of said movie. And somehow, I'm interested. But of course, there is no way they are gonna screen it here.

Then, coincidentally, TV3 decided to air Fullmetal Alchemist (the series, not the movie though) dubbed in Malay. Talk about lucky! And I was ecstatic. Every Saturday, 6.30 pm, I would be in front of the TV, watching it. When the series ended, that was it. I have no internet during that particular period, so after FMA finished, I didn't watch any anime for awhile.
Hell yeah!

After I got the internet back, I realised there's a new series, FMA: Brotherhood, a remake that follows the source material more closely. So I started downloading those episodes. And of course, since I downloaded from an anime website, I tried to pick up other series, though rarely. When I switched schools, a few of my new friends also recommended me some titles. After a trying out a few series, I started to like anime.

Though most of em are bad, some are really good. The bad ones are usually plagued with anime cliches, moe, annoying voices, ecchi and retarded cheesy plots, but it cant't be helped. Just think of it like those Bollywood movies (people starts to dance in the streets for no reasons, ridiculous fight scenes). I just ignore the bad as much as I can and enjoy the good points. Not saying I only watch deep or philosophical stuff all the time, I do watch other stuff, though if it's really bad, I drop the title faster than the speed of light (fastest drop was 1 1/2 episodes, that anime was so bad).

And because of that, I start to draw people again after all those times drawing guns. since I already used anime style before, it isn't hard for me to draw fan arts and stuff (but it made me hard to adapt other drawing styles).

So here I am today, as an anime fan. I'm no otaku though, I think I'm not to that kind of level yet (and hopefully I won't).

And that's it..

Quite a trip that I went through, from bulldozers to cartoons with big eyes. But hey each of those influenced a lot of stuff in my life. There are a few newest ones that I omitted from this blog post, let just say it's too new to write anything about it. These here are the major ones.

Who knows what more other weird stuff that will interest me in the future? Knitting? Hyenas? Antimatter? I don't know. All I hope for is that it won't bring any harm unto me.

Well, that's all for this post. Thank you for reading my humble exposition. Till the next time!

P/S: I'm making a short story regarding Axachariyah, now at the final chapter (unfortunately the illustrations have not started yet). So stay tuned for that!

Varied interests

Hello, it's been awhile since I posted a long post, luckily I have a new one. For this post, I will reveal some in depth concept about a character that have been in the works for a long time, Axachariyah.

BACKGROUND

William is a member of the Knights of the Order of Luminarium, a very elite group of skilled nobles that have sworn oath to serve and protect the royalty of the country. His father is the highest ranking member of the army, and he being an only, is destined to be next in line.

When his father died, he accepts his duties as his successor. Although he is only 19, he was favoured by many. But the day before his title is official, he was ambushed by an unknown group. He was grievously wounded, and he fell to the nearby river, bleeding profusely.

He managed to be saved down river by a a woman, a magi named Farawé. She quickly seared the wound shut using her fire magic, and bring him to safety.
When William recovered, 3 days have passed. A lot have changed in 3 days. His father's close friend is now the one holding the title of army commander, the King have died and now the king's younger brother is the new head of the Kingdom. And most of all, everyone think he died during the ambush.

With so much changing in 3 days and William being officially 'dead', he now goes under a new identity, Axachariyah, with the goal to find out what is exactly going on in his beloved country, in accordance to the Knights oath to protect the Kingdom and King, and oath he swore he will never broke.

APPEARANCE

He's a quite tough looking guy, though still young, with a messy short blonde hair (which he dyed black when he became Axachariyah).

His casual clothes consists of a leather jacket, and inner leather jacket (which is attached to that collar thingy), baggy long sleeved shirt and pants, some vambraces and some old boots.

Apologies for the quality of the scans...

In his armour, we can see he is wearing some basic armour components, though the platebody is a bit different from the norm.  Farawé designed it to make it more flexible and lighter. Also the collar is buttoned up real high and he wears his hood, which have some sort of ornament in the front and a plume in the back.

Front and back view, with some close up on the gauntlets.

PERSONALITY

He is a very quiet person, always follow orders, rules and guidelines. He is extremely patriotic, and believes chivalry, loyalty and the greater good (AKA the goody two shoes, the white knight, etc).

Though when he became Axachariyah and meddles more into the underworld, it affected his personality a bit, but he is still a good guy, and always defend his ideals.

ABILITIES

In the Kingdom he's in, magic is not widely accepted, and the nobles shunned it, so we won't see him throw fireballs and stuff. But he did have one, and fortunately, this particular magic is very easy to hide.

His magic is Magister Arma (Grandmaster of Arms), an ability to use any and every weapon with skills and speed that everyone can only dream of. And it doesn't even have to be a weapon. If he sees a spoon and recognizes it as a weapon, he can pretty much fight people with that spoon. And the ability also increase the durability of the weapon he currently wielding.

On the downside, if he somehow caught weapon-less, he's nothing more than a human with average combat skills.

PLOT

Not much will be revealed unfortunately, but I can tell you that involves a lot of individuals and groups that have links to what's happening in the Kingdom. And apparently Farawé is also involved one way or another.

The plot will  focus on Axachariyah's quest to find out why is his country changed so dramatically, and also about his first glimpse into the criminal underworld, where all his beliefs and ideals are stretched to the limits.

CONCLUSION

Well, that's what I have so far regarding this character. I might change/add more details as I write a a more complete story. Some people might think that the fantasy is close to non-existent in this plot, but I assure you this IS done within a fantasy setting. It might not scream MAGIC WARRIORS DRAGONS, but I assure you the fantasy will show.

I do have high hopes for this particular work of mine, but it's still far from finish in terms of plot and characters, and I hope I wont abandon it. So with that, thanks for your time, I appreciate every second of it, and if you do have comments, please, share with me. So see you again next time.

Axachariyah: character concept

Well, after a long while, at last, I'm gonna release some info regarding one of my stories. I've only shown some of these concepts and ideas to some of my friends.

Well, technically, I'm still figuring out the name for this story, this new 'world', so for now, lets just call it Axachariyah-verse, based on the name of the main character.

Well, this Axachariyah-verse is a mythical magic world set around the medieval ages, with some Renaissance and early 1700s mixed in (oh god that sounds dumb haha). Well, for now, that's the best description that I can give for now. A world of magic, technology, countries and different races.

It seems that world-building (creating a fictional world from scratch) is hard for me, so my ideas are still rough around the edges, hopefully it will smooth out soon.

Well, unfortunately, I only have one sketch to present to you today, a mix of major and and not so minor characters. I don't want to reveal much, but let just say the main character is the masked hooded sword guy, and with him is a fire mage, a musketeer with a deadly secret,  an archer who is a member of a secret group, a mercenary for hire, and someone that sucks....which is is which? guess away...Hopefully, I will reveal the answers soon...

P.S.: I have a comic in the works regarding on some of these characters, sketching is done, let see if I can move my lazy hands to ink it....

Character concepts?

Yes, it's been a long time since I've updated this shit, and I apologize, I will try to update it more often.....So I will try to redeem my absence with a long post~

So this post is about a game idea I had quite awhile now (Creating games is one of my life's dream)....and I took alot of inspirations (AKA copy paste ideas and modiefied it abit) from lots of games, movies, anime and etc.

So, the name is SuperHuman, the game is kinda like a modern day Skyrim, a sandbox game where you are a legendary character who holds the key to saving the world. You can kill the people for fun, you can run errands, take jobs, marry someone, rob a bank and other stuff.

Okay, here's the story, set in the modern day, one day aliens suddenly pop out of of nowhere and want to invade us for some reason. Earth, of course, try to fight back, but of course failed to do so, but then out of nowhere, a superhero, the Phantom (which is who'll youll be playing), fought the aliens with his various superpowers!

So, he managed to defeat everything the aliens threw at him, and he succeeded to enter the mothership's main core, so he just casually super punch the core to hell. But nothing happened.

Suddenly he's feeling weakened. To his surprise, the core is actually sucking all his super powers, and he saw his life flashes before his eyes. And just like that, he is reduced to a normal human. Blacked out, he fall from the sky as the world watches their final hope defeated so easily.

So, with the hero gone, business as usual for the aliens, wreaking havoc and making humans slaves and all, you know, the usual stuff you see in most 'alien rule the world' movies.

25 years have passed since the 1st contact with the aliens, and somehow, the Phantom managed to survive with the little ounce of his  super invulnerability left with him! But because of the power sucking the core did, the aliens now have HIS powers. And also because of the fall, he lost alot of his memories.

<<GAMEPLAY>>

So, you will start pretty much like in Skyrim, you and a few prisoners are captured by some rogue raiders. You we're close getting executed for some reason, then BAM, an alien scoutship suddenly attack the rogue's base, so in the chaos, you and some prisoners escape, and two of them offer you to follow the (cause you somehow helped them evade the attacks). One is from the HEtA faction, one is from HFF. So your choice to follow whom will effect your storyline.

So you'll do some random missions related to the factions, and because you lost you powers, you mostly use firearms. Then in one of the missions, you somehow managed to take down an alien scoutship. And when you rummage through its wreckage, you see the a small core that powers the ship, and then suddenly, you start to regain your powers and memories back (just a little though!).

So, the more 'soulpower'you retrieve from the alien's core, more powers and memories you receive (like points upgrade to unlock cooler weapons).

<<POWERS>>

I don't want to show much, but I'll list down the basic:

Strength-> You can do strength related stuff, from the basic like heavy lifting and reducing weapon's recoil to upgraded ones like punching tanks and jumping high.

Speed  -> Basics like faster reloading and running to upgraded ones like flash-move (kinda like shundou) and moving so fast that times freezes/slows down.

Ice        -> Basics like shooting icicles to upgraded ones like creating an Absolute Zero.

There's lots more of course, so you can basically shape the hero you had in mind.

<<FACTIONS AND ENEMIES>> (sorry for the bad picture scans)

One of the guards, they are particularly simple and ragged with their uniforms, and wield firearms. Though they can pack quite a punch.

>>Humanity Freedom Front (HFF)

A faction that completely rejects any deals or alliances with the aliens, and will fight with whatever they have to destroy the aliens.
Much more advanced from their anti-alien friends, the have better uniforms, good protection, and they sometimes use more high-tech weapons.

>>Humans-Extraterestrials Alliance (HEtA)

A faction that try to work together with the aliens, and try to somehow co-exist with them as much as possible.
Yes, the aliens are a floating mass of 3d shapes etched with weird markings and binded together by some weird electricity.  They rarely show their true form, and usually wear on of those tentacles suits.

A regular alien grunt. About the same size with a human. Some of you might ask why does these aliens look like some ancient floating magical rocks that belongs to some fantasy RPG....the answer is because they are aliens, they are suppose to be REALLY weird. And I wanna change the whole idea of aliens being more technologically advanced by showing them having cool gadgets and shit. I mean, they could look like some ancient rocks, but still have advanced technology. Its aliens were talking bout. They are supposed to be other-worldly and weird.

>>Celestial Beings (Aliens)

The main antagonist, they came to earth for a secret reason that you will know when you finish the game.

That's some freaky looking combination huh? and by the way, she's holding some weird alien firearm.
>>Inter-species protoypes (Hybrids)

A product of the aliens experiments on humans and animals, they produce this weird alien/human/animal freaks that have some powerful skills and powers.

>>Rogues

An enemy type, basically humans that wants the earth to turn into wild west, they do shit whatever and whenever they want, and don't give two shits bout what is happening in earth.

>>Mutations

An enemy type, they're are zombie like humans that have been attacked by the alien's biological weapons. They're many types, from normal zombies to vampire like creatures. Animals are affected too.

Those are some basic enemy ideas. More will come I guess. And no matter what faction you choose, you will always end up facing the final alien boss somehow, and will try to defeat the core that have once sucked your powers.
Phantom facing off one of the game's boss. Yes, the hero is wearing a mask and a fedora. I kinda reject the idea of superheroes with silly overcomplicated costumes, I mean, it's the future, people laugh at that shit in reality. So, this hero just wear everyday clothes, and when trouble comes, he just puts on a mask to hide his identity, and go fight. Simple as that.

<<PARTING WORDS>>

So that's basically it, it kinda mix of Skyrim, Protoype, GTA, Darksiders and Battlefield (planning it to be a first person perspective game).

So hopefully it will become a reality somehow haha.

BTW, I have alot of pages of comics to draw, and my University results coming in, so I'm kinda busy after this, but no fear, I will try to update it as best as I can.

For you Malaysians readers, I've finisheda short comic titled 'Mat Hoodie', here's the link http://www.mediafire.com/?5fg16djwhj49lrj , and plz comment about it.

I really need to speed up my works, cuz most of em are largely delayed. Work faster!!

With that, good evening/morning/afternoon and see you next time!

Game ideas: SuperHuman

*Sighs* Haven't really updated for awhile, and sorry for that. It seems my ideas are running low these days, not just ideas, my will to do anything it seems. I need something to charge me up!

If you guy don't know, I draw alot, anime style (yeah, got a problem with that artsyle?), mostly of what I've been thinking or any concepts that I like. Some time I do comic strips for fun. I have a short comic in the making, but having problems with typesetting (damn you Mangastudio!). I usually have alot of ideas to draw and share to the world, but sometime my ideas and inspiration goes down, and I will start to do activities that I mostly do when i'm down and depressed  (surfing 4chan/marathoning anime/eating).

And right now thankfully I have some inspiration for something to draw, though it doesn't really have anything with what i'm working currently. Sometimes the reason why I feel down is I forgot ideas, or my ideas is stolen (albeit, taken by another show that I don't know existed). One minute you think your ideas are original, BAM, someone else already done it.

Okay maybe not up to that level..

Other reason that will drive me up the wall is when you got an idea, sketch it, liked the initial sketch, scanned it and ink/colour it, then when you've finished, only to find out that you did a mistake and and you didn't realise it earlier. That sometimes make me lose faith in my skill sometimes. I mean sometimes I pull an all-nighter to finish it only to find flaws. Maybe I'm being too big of a critic to myself...

Anyhow, i got some drawing to do, and hopefully one or more the above will not happen. And now I will dump some of the works I've done...
My original character in my story..

Zakaria fighting a villain. I'll show the concepts and stuff when it's fully fleshed out
Short one bout my early school life...

By the way, if you have a deviantART, add me http://haxorxor.deviantart.com/

Music is important to me, and I'm pretty sure it's important to most people. A mixture of beats, rhythms, melodies and voices that is fused together majestically to give various emotions, feelings, inspirations, satisfaction once it entered our ear canals. And every genre has it's own appeal and it's own fans.

Anyhow, music is something I live off and it's like oxygen to me (though I've never heard anyone who breathes in at least once a day, but you see my point right?). When I sketch, I listen to my music, when I take a short walk, I listen to music, even when I'm bathing, veeerrry rarely. I don't know why, but my music seems to inspire me about my sketches, or make me feel energetic on slow day.

And I don't know if its just me, but some of the songs I have always remind of some places and events. Some remind me of walking in the rain, some remind me of the last house that I've lived, and even a song that reminds me of me staying up 3 in the morning to play MMORPGS while my parents are asleep. And  to me, those memories are somewhat nostalgic to me and I'm glad these songs 'awaken' some moments of life that I've long forgotten about (Darn it, I feel old).

So keep listening to music you like, and enjoy it till the last beat.

This is one of my favourite songs, with energetic fast rock tunes mixed with slow and relaxing notes. Lend me your ears if you may~This song is called Sorakaze, maning Sky Wind, sung by Nana Mizuki.

Ideas. Everyone have their own ideas that they want to see being materialized. Ideas about a plot of a story, ideas of a new invention, ideas that might have the potential to change the world. But most of these ideas are nothing but a mere thought in someone's mind and will never be of any use to the world unless that person decides to make an effort to turn the idea of theirs into reality.

What I meant to say is, if you have an idea, a concept, that you think is interesting/beneficial, work hard to make it into reality. If it's a plot, make a short comic/piece, share it with others. If you have ideas on a new invention, make an effort to read books related to your ideas and make some small sketches/models of it. If your idea is a song lyric, try to learn some basic musical instruments to make some tunes to accompany your lyrics (or the hi-tech Japanese way, use a Vocaloid singing synthesizer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocaloid).

So, if you have ideas about something and want to make it into reality, start working!

P.S-This blog is one of my ideas becoming reality hee hee
